Some shots of my brother LLoyd Yates playing Le Hocq in Jersey recently. Things are moving along nicely for him which was highlighted earlier this week when Radio 1 DJ Rob Da Bank featured one of his tracks on his show last week. You can take a listen to it here on Soundcloud.

Some images I took for DJ and Producer JoJo De Freq playing Heroes at Egg, December 2012. Check out her latest mix on soundcloud here. HNY!

Here’s a recent film for Oh My Love we shot in Epping Forest just outside London. Beautiful day for it!

Some recent photography for Nirvana. showcasing their window installation for The Wellcome Trust on Euston Rd.

Another live recording we put together in Jersey last month at Vinchelez Manor in the dining room for Lloyd Yates showcasing his new track ‘Burn me Baby’. He headlines at Bush Hall on Friday 13th July in London with support from Thomas J Speight and Jasmine Kennedy.

It’s a ticket only event and you can get them here. Be quick though Lloyds gig’s don’t disappoint!

Vic Lee is a great illustrator and he’s on a mission to draw London (but not all of it - his website explains). A couple of weeks back I filmed one of his incredible pieces - ‘E17 Wood Street - Tall Tales Dubious Stories’  going up on Wood Street for the Inside Out Project. The 18 meter hoarding was commissioned by Waltham Forest Council in an effort to regenerate the area.

I think it looks pretty cool…

Here’s a video I made of the track ‘Down by the River’ for Lloyd Yates and his band late last year. It was shot in Jersey at the Hamiltons in their Greenhouse. Huge thanks to them for letting us use the space!

Singer/Songwriter Lloyd Yates (and also my talented brother) was in town last weekend for a gig at the Camden Wheelbarrow. As well as filming the gig with the lovely lads from highsixmedia (stay tuned for that) we arranged a photo shoot early morning in East London to catch the beautiful light. Some selected shots here.

Having a wander into film lately. Here’s a promo I made for for the people at ‘Oh My love’. They had a wee party for their sample sale on Hanbury street in December last year and the lovely Suze Rosser was behind the decks.

Track for video is remixed by Archie Hamilton.

Stay tuned for more of this…

JONATHAN CHERRY: What gets you up in the morning?

MARIBETH KEANE: Recently, the smell of local New Hampshire coffee. I really enjoy long mornings so I’m usually happy watching the sunrise with said coffee.

JC: Are there any emerging photographers inspiring you at the moment?

MK: Some friends of mine are making really inspiring work: Kellen Medina, Patrick Aguilar, Paccarik Orue, Kenny Hurtado

JC: What is Pushing Air all about?

MK: Pushing Air is about finding the quiet, still parts of a city that was often defined to me by chaos and violence, both by people and nature. In early 2011 I moved to Memphis, Tennessee and spent most days driving around places that the locals had warned me about. The idea behind the project was to spend time in these places, to sit and wait, to watch the city become something during my time there. In the end Memphis became a city pushing towards a constant transition, but stuck in its unfinished landscapes.

JC: How do you find juggling personal & commercial work?

MK: I assume it would be a good challenge, however, I haven’t had the experience yet. Since I graduated in 2010 I have been traveling through America and Europe. It’s been a struggle, but to fund trips and film I have worked odd jobs, usually taking the mornings, evenings, and days off to shoot. Thus far, everything has been personal work. I hope to change that in the coming year.

JC: What equipment do you use? (from cameras - software - hardware)

MK: I was using a 4x5 Crown Graphic and now I shoot with a Mamiya RZ.

JC: Any advice to recent photography graduates?

MK: Keep shooting, remember patience, talk to people, follow your instincts, and trust yourself. Experiment and keep making mistakes!

JC: Favourite tree?

MK: Magnolia. Willow.
